jewel toned garden party
Lauren and I first met at one of my favorite cafes, Brewella’s in Lakewood for coffee and crepes. From what I remember, it was pretty cold out and it was the perfectly cozy location to talk all things wedding. Lauren and I quickly clicked and felt comfortable with each other. When I found out Lauren would be marrying her fiance Dave at Felice Urban Cafe, I understood the vibe right away! Felice is an intimate, farm to table restaurant on Cleveland’s east side. It is located in a house and has a backyard garden and patio. I also learned that Lauren and Dave had purchased a fixer upper in Shaker Heights and were in the process of turning it into their home. Just like the couple’s favorite restaurants and new home, they would be making their wedding day similarly cozy and intimate.
I designed the bridal party’s personal flowers; including bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, flowers crowns and hair combs. And the restaurant was able to place stems into bud vases on each table because the couple purchased a DIY bucket of flowers from me. Lauren’s bridesmaids had mix matched jewel toned dresses and the flowers really reflected each one’s individual style. All the flowers used were grown locally, and included; dahlias, strawflowers, statice, scabiosa, gladiouls, eucalyptus, lisianthus, zinnias, and celosia.
